MEDIA RELEASE- Fairley Leadership Program’s 2020 Launch

The 2020 Fairley Leadership Program will be launched at Pippin’s, Terminus Hotel on Wednesday 5th February with special guest speaker Cr. Seema Abdullah, Mayor of Greater Shepparton City Council.
“The success of the Fairley Leadership Program in already producing 600 Graduates, who are contributing positively to the Goulburn Murray Region is due largely to the support the program receives from the Goulburn Murray community” said Melissa Seymour, Program Facilitator of the Fairley Leadership Program.
“We are delighted to announce the 27 participants for 2020, for the year long program at the 24th launch".
The 2020 Fairley Leadership Program includes a launch, an opening and closing retreat, twelve regional issue themed seminar days, 3 skills-based days and study tours to Canberra and Melbourne.
The new cohort will experience 100 speakers who aim to inspire and challenge the group.
"It is a marvellous opportunity to listen and engage with the people who have shaped our community, and who are profound in their different styles of leadership” continued Melissa Seymour.

About the organisation
Goulburn Murray Community Leadership (GMCL) is a not-for-profit organisation and is one of ten regional community leadership organisations throughout Victoria, whose core business is the development of community leaders.
Fairley Leadership represents the flagship program of the organisation and has been developing community leaders since 1997 with over 600 graduates during that time. These graduates have a deep understanding of community issues, the necessary leadership skills to bring community members together, broad networks to draw on for input and support and the self-confidence to engage and lead discussions within the Goulburn Murray community.
Goulburn Murray Community Leadership is currently seeking Expressions of Interest for a number of Ordinary Board Members. Board meetings are held monthly.
Criteria for application
Applicants will have:
• A demonstrated commitment to community leadership
• A genuine interest in the Goulburn Murray region
• The ability to contribute to the governance, leadership and strategic direction of Goulburn Murray Community Leadership
• Reasonable financial literacy skills
(Ordinary board members are not limited to Fairley Leadership alumni however alumni of the program are encouraged to apply).
