The Fairley Leadership Program has welcomed its new Program Facilitator- Melissa Seymour- to the team. Melissa is currently working closely with this year’s participants as they enter the final months of their leadership program experience, and she encourages members of the Goulburn Murray community who have the passion and courage to ‘Lead Where You Live’, to apply now for the 2020 leadership program.
Melissa Seymour is the eleventh program facilitator in the 23 years of the leadership program, following on from Sandy Gunn, who expertly facilitated the program for participants earlier this year.
The CEO of the Fairley Leadership Program, Michelle Luscombe, said “We are delighted to have Melissa join our Fairley Leadership team, she has a wealth of experience to bring to the Program Facilitator role and to share with our program participants.”
Melissa has over 10 years’ experience in leadership and management in the education and medical workforce sectors and is looking forward to bringing her skills to the Fairley Leadership Program.
Melissa Seymour said, “I am passionate about coaching and developing both emerging and established leaders. If you are a member of the local community, who has the passion and courage to drive change in the Goulburn Murray Region, I encourage you to apply for next year’s leadership program before the Friday 25 October 2019 closing date.”
Melissa is also a Marriage Celebrant and also supports the administration of her husband’s regional architecture practice. Outside of work Melissa is busy with her three sons who are actively involved in various sporting and extra-curricular activities.
Previously Melissa worked for the University of Melbourne as the Rural Clinical School Manager, leading a team to successfully administer the curriculum delivery of the final clinical years of the Doctor of Medicine across Rural Victoria.
Melissa has a Bachelor degree in Health Science and post graduate qualifications in Public Relations and Communications.
Fairley Leadership began in 1997 as a result of a local businessman’s (Ross McPherson, Managing Director of the McPherson Media Group) participation in the Williamson Community Leadership Program based in
Melbourne. On his return he gathered together a group of local business and community people interested in addressing the need for leadership across the region.
The Fairley Leadership Program is now in its twenty-third year with some 550 graduates. The program provides an opportunity for people to develop leadership skills across the Goulburn Murray region and to explore the major issues facing the region and assist positive change.
The Fairley Leadership Program is designed to build individual leadership capacity and educate emerging leaders about the challenges and opportunities impacting on the Goulburn Murray region.
The program nurtures people with the skills and aspirations to lead and equips them for leadership in both their own organisations and in the wider community.
